Cargill Ranch and Feeders
Employee Recruitment

Cargill Ranch and Feeders partnered with Sierra Cargill Marketing & Creative to launch a strategic Meta ad campaign focused on employee recruitment. Our goal was to attract quality applicants despite the ranch’s remote location by showcasing the benefits of the Gyp Hills community, creating ads that resonated with job seekers, and simplifying the application process with built-in lead forms. The campaign combined scroll-stopping reels and static ads to reach candidates where they were, screen for the right fit, and ultimately secure reliable hires to keep operations running strong.
The Challenge
Cargill Ranch and Feeders, a starter yard and cow-calf operation located in the Gyp Hills, faced a critical challenge: attracting and retaining employees in a remote location. The lack of available workforce made day-to-day operations difficult, and the ranch was at risk of shutting its doors if they couldn’t find reliable help.
They needed support to:
-
Overcome the hiring challenges of being in a rural, hard-to-reach area
-
Build awareness of career opportunities at the ranch
-
Present ranch work as a meaningful and rewarding career path
-
Secure enough employees to keep operations running strong

The Strategy
To address Cargill Ranch and Feeders’ hiring challenges, we developed a targeted Meta advertising campaign designed to reach potential employees where they were most likely to be looking for new opportunities.
Our approach included:
-
Running ads in areas where factories were closing and other feedyards faced unsafe or undesirable community conditions
-
Highlighting the advantages of living and working in the Gyp Hills community, emphasizing safety, stability, and quality of life
-
Using a mix of engaging reels and static ads to capture attention and build trust
-
Integrating a lead generation form on the back end to streamline applications and gather essential candidate information
-
Designing the form to screen applicants effectively — with detailed questions tailored for individuals who may not have resumes or college education, ensuring quality over quantity
By combining location-specific targeting with authentic messaging and practical application tools, Cargill Ranch and Feeders could identify strong candidates while eliminating unqualified leads.
The Results
Through the Meta ad campaigns, Cargill Ranch and Feeders received 20–40 applicants per round of ads. From these leads, they successfully made a key hire who stayed on the ranch for 18 months, providing stability and keeping operations moving forward.
